Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst, indicated that Apple is likely to launch a refreshed iPad mini early in the next year and that mass production is expected to start in the first quarter. This is in contrast to Kuo's previous thoughts that the device may not be released until late 2023 or early 2024. Kuo suggested that the main selling point of the new iPad mini would be a new processor, though a rumor from a Korean leaker suggested it might feature ProMotion display technology with a maximum 120Hz refresh rate. Ross Young believes Apple is already working on an iPad mini 7, but he does not think it will have ProMotion technology. Kuo also referenced a foldable iPad with a carbon fiber kickstand that he expects to be released by Apple in 2024.
